Stuart Drexler is a kids product developer and innovator with over 20 years’ experience creating interactive content, games and toys for global brands including Club Penguin, Moshi Monsters, Barbie, Elmo and LEGO. Among his current portfolio of initiatives, he is advising on strategy, user experience and design of the Tykoon financial management platform for tweens. Tapping both online and mobile platforms, Tykoon enhances and incentivizes the way kids and their parents manage chores, allowance, saving, spending and charitable giving.
In previous roles, Stuart has been VP, Product Design & Production at Disney Online Studios, where he oversaw product development across all of Disney’s virtual worlds. There he guided teams to innovate Disney’s next generation gaming platform as well as a ground-breaking system that embeds, measures and reports back learning in online and mobile games. During 10 years in London, Stuart led the development team at VC-backed Mind Candy to create and launch Moshi Monsters, currently the fastest-growing MMO for tweens with over 60 million registered users. His initiatives while EVP, Brand Development for Polly Pocket strategically positioned Polly as the world’s number one small doll and facilitated its sale to Mattel in early 2007. He previously directed product development for LEGO MindStorms programmable robotics toys and originated the LEGO Knights Kingdom franchise, lauded 2005 Toy Of The Year for boys. Stuart studied under Seymour Papert and Mitchel Resnick at the MIT Media Lab and holds a Master of Technology, Innovation & Education degree from Harvard and a B.A. in Social Sciences from U.C. Berkeley.
