Mark is a well-known pioneer of the children’s multimedia and interactive design industry. He is an expert in children’s interactive design with over 30 years of design, publishing, and creative management experience, and over 100 awards for excellence in entertainment and education. Mark is probably best known as the creator of Broderbund’s Living Books CD-ROM series. The highly animated and multilingual Living Books set the benchmark for truly engaging and educational multimedia in the 90’s. Mark’s first Living Books title “Just Grandma and me” sold over 2.5 million copies in seven languages and helped launched the category we now eBooks.
In 2000 Mark founded NoodleWorks Interactive, a creative design consulting and production company specializing in children’s interactive design. In November 2011, Mark’s first iPad app for children, Noodle Words – Action Set 1, was released. Since then it has won the KAPi Award for Best Educational Product of The Year, and was a Holiday recommended app by the New York Times and Parent’s Choice, and featured by Apple’s App Store in New & Noteworthy and What’s Hot under Education.
Besides producing a pack of new apps Mark is also just completing a book on the psychology and art form of computer interaction titled “Understanding Kids – Designing Award Winning Interactive Media for Children”.
