April 25, 2012 9:30 am - 10:30 am - Ballroom H
Track:
Todd Coleman and Josef Hall, co-creators of KingsIsle Entertainment’s popular online game Wizard101, will discuss how they moved from hardcore gaming in the world of massively multiplayer online games (MMOG) and achieved runaway critical and commercial success in the kids market with Wizard101, the #1 AAA family-friendly online social game in North America. They will open the Digital Kids Conference by sharing their winning formula for successfully transitioning from the brutal world of open combat in online gaming to an enchanting children’s title that’s enjoying unprecedented growth the world over.
Wizard101 recently topped 25 million players in the U.S., and Wizard101.com receives 13 million monthly visitors. The game launched in 2008 and has become increasingly popular, targeting children 8 – 12 years of age and adults. Wizard101 currently operates in eight European countries including the U.K., Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Italy, Greece, and Turkey, and moves into China later this year for a potentially huge pool of new customers.
