Andrew Sugerman is Executive Vice President, Disney Publishing Worldwide (DPW). In this role, he is responsible for operations and strategic direction for Disney’s publishing businesses around the world, including licensed and vertical books, magazines, and comics; digital publishing of eBooks, enhanced eBooks, and mobile apps; and growing learning initiatives–extending content for all key Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm franchises while creating new IP to be leveraged across all areas of the Walt Disney Company.
Sugerman joined Disney Publishing in 2007 as senior vice president and general manager, Disney English, and quickly built it into a thriving learning business, currently with 45+ language learning centers in 11 cities across China. Under Sugerman’s leadership, Disney English set the benchmark for the way children learn English, using a combination of storytelling and cutting-edge technology. Sugerman also managed all global learning efforts for Disney Publishing, bringing licensed products to more than 100,000 classrooms in 50 countries.
Prior to joining Disney, Sugerman pioneered global distance learning at EF Education First’s start-up, Englishtown, where he was responsible for business development and general management of all online consumer businesses in Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
