Alice Cahn, Advisor to Google’s YouTube Kids, former VP Development and Acquisitions, Cartoon Network

Alice Cahn is a children’s media executive experienced in creating projects and brands that lead to: engaged audiences; successful cross-sector partnerships; increased employee engagement; and positive social change. At Cartoon Network she created content and projects that increased audiences; reversed negative youth and adult attitudes about youth media brands; and built effective partnerships with business, government, education, advocacy and community-based organizations. Cahn founded Cartoon Network’s award-winning STOP BULLYING: SPEAK UP project, now embraced globally by the network.

Prior to working with Turner, Cahn served as PBS’ head of Children’s Programming acquiring the network’s highest rated and most profitable youth series: BARNEY, ARTHUR, THE MAGIC SCHOOBUS and TELETUBBIES. Ms. Cahn served as Group President of Television, Film, and Video at Sesame Workshop, increasing revenue from home video projects and creating new series elements reflective of changing audience needs and media environments. At the Markle Foundation, she was Managing Director of the Interactive Media division, funding content and publishing research on the impact of technology on learning and development.

Cahn did her Masters work in Educational Technology at San Francisco State University; and holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from NYU. She serves as an advisor to: Grom Social; the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility; The National Partnership for Safe Routes to School; National Association for Media Literacy Education; International Bullying Prevention Association; American Association for Physical Education, Health, Recreation and Dance; Adaptive Health Research; NJ Parent Teacher Association; and the Children’s Media Association. She and her wife live in Maplewood, NJ and have 3 children.
